Abstract
A case of congenital brochogenic cyst, which involved deft lower lobe in a soldier of 24 years old, is presented.
He was known to have a cystic lesion in his left lung
several years prior to admission by mass survey and has been well without any symptoms. On admission, the presenting symptoms were left chest pain, productive purulent cough and fluctuant fever.
Roentgenogram showed a thin walled oval shaped cystic cavity of 10 X 7 X 5 cm. in superior segment of ¢¥left lower lobe..
Histopathological findings were characterized by almost absence of all lining epithelium due to infection and the cavity wall composed of fibrous tissues and infiltration of small round cells.
Through left lower lobectomy reexpension of left lung immediately occurred and the patient had good recovery without any complication.
